Twinings Ovo and Lane4 recognised for Best Training Partnership at Training Journal Awards 2016

Twinings Ovo and Lane4 are delighted to have been recognised in the 2016 TJ Awards. They were awarded Bronze in the category of Best Training Partnership at a Gala Dinner on 6th December in central London. Other winners are listed here.

This recognition follows the long running International Leadership Development Programme (ILDP) which has been developing rising stars from across the world of Twinings Ovo for the last 8 years.

Every year since 2008, Twinings’ Ovo talent review process has identified a cohort of around 20 middle-managers from across the international business to take part in this one-year programme. It unifies different geographies and business units, providing collective access to a consistently high quality leadership programme which combines a blend of workshops, pre-work, coaching and mentoring. To encourage delegates to create their own unique recipe for leadership, this highly immersive, experiential programme emphasises self-directive learning, backed by extensive input and support.

The programme has significantly improved retention and career development within Twinings Ovo with 74% of delegates still with the organisation and 42% of them having been promoted at least once within the ABF Group.

“Our partnership with Lane4 over the last 8 years has helped us build our leaders of the future and we’re absolutely thrilled with this recognition. So many of our past delegates tell us it’s the best development programme they’ve ever been on! We don’t believe in prescribing what leadership looks like at Twinings Ovo. Instead, we want to inspire managers to create their own ‘recipe’ for leadership, in the context of our business values, and this type of intervention requires a bespoke approach and trusting partnership to create something meaningful.
Elizabeth Edwards, Head of HR, International Markets, Twinings Ovo

“ILDP gets right to the heart of what leadership means at Twinings Ovo, helping delegates to play out our values in the way they lead and do business. We believe it has certainly contributed to our growth rates over the past eight years, helping us to stand out from other FMCG companies.”
Steve Napier, International HR Director, Twinings Ovo

“We are absolutely delighted that Twinings’ Ovo ILDP has received this recognition. This has been a true partnership over the years as we’ve worked together to evolve the content to keep it fresh for the delegates while making sure it’s aligning to the challenges of the business. This programme truly stands out for me due to the deeply personal, profoundly committed contributions from senior Twinings’ and ABF leaders who have been willing to share their leadership journey. When it comes to inspiring future leaders, it doesn’t get any better than this!”
Austin Swain, Client Services Director, Lane4
