Employing over 2,900 people, HomeServe Membership Ltd provides home emergency insurance cover and domestic repairs to over 2 million UK customers. Their 2020 strategy is to be the UK’s number 1 home assistance company, providing effortless customer service to 3 million customers. It’s an ambition forged in the wake of challenging times having received a record breaking regulatory fine back in 2014.

This vision required a change in focus for the business putting customer satisfaction at the heart whilst at the same time enabling a major cultural shift to grow its own high-performing workforce.

The Leading 4 Success leadership development programme has been central to this shift. Over 18 months, 140 senior leaders in mixed cohorts from across the business learnt how to inspire and empower their teams to deliver the 2020 strategy for growth. The inspirational and practical learning programme was created and delivered in partnership with consultancy, Lane4, and involved an inspirational launch event, four 2 day workshops as well as psychometric profiling and Action learning group support.

“The use of actors, business simulations and experiential activities throughout the programme was an innovative way to give our leaders tools they could use in the workplace the very next day with their teams.”  Becky Edwards, Head of Talent Development, HomeServe

“I learn best when it’s real. This programme was well balanced, offering masses of opportunities for practical learning and time to address our real-world business issues.”
Paula Homan, Director of Claims, delegate on the programme

“I’m absolutely delighted that Leading 4 Success has received this recognition.  We’ve seen some strong results across the organisation including huge improvements in succession planning with the number of senior positions filled internally rising from 3% in 2016 to 43% in 2017 year to date.
Matt Hill, Director of Learning & Development, HomeServe

“I think Lane4 have been great to partner with. They’ve really taken the time to understand how we work and how our business needs to grow and have built a solution that really works for us.”

Andy Wicken, former People Director, HomeServe

“A great company needs great leaders. Leading 4 Success supports us all, as leaders, to develop our 2020 strategy. We have been learning how to build, lead and coach high-performing teams, because having great teams is the only way to achieve our winning aspirations. Our recent people engagement scores are incredible.”
Martin Bennett, CEO, HomeServe

“We’re absolutely delighted that the Leading 4 Success programme has received this recognition and that the programme continues to have such a tremendous impact on HomeServe today. It’s really rewarding to hear about the impact on the organisational performance as well as the individual’s working lives.”
