The Metropolitan Police Service - leading for London

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is the UK’s largest police force. It is a true ‘people organisation’ comprised of 43,000 individuals dedicated to protecting London and Londoners; not simply responding to crimes but working with the community to prevent crime and to safeguard the vulnerable.

Leading for London has absolutely been at the heart of us creating an environment where the Met really can be fit for the future.

Robin WIlkinson, Chief of Corporate Services at The Metropolitan Police Service

The Programme

In 2018, the MPS launched “Leading for London” (LfL), a ground-breaking leadership development and behavioural change programme, designed to equip 10,000 leaders with the skills needed to fulfil their mission “to keep London safe for everyone.”

The Result

The hugely successful programme won the 2020 MCA Award for Performance Improvement in the Public Sector (People). It was also a finalist in the Learning Awards 2020 for People Development Programme of the Year (Public Sector). You can learn more about our leadership development here.
